My dad's family is from Chilhowie, Va (between Abingdon and Wytheville up interstate 81) and even though his family moved away in 1952 when he was four and I've never lived in that area a day in my life... it always feels like home. We go up every year from Augusta, Ga for our family reunion and it's one my most favorite weekends of the year. Beautiful country up there and the pictures do a better job at describing the area than words ever could, the people are great too.

Love your pictures! I did a double take at the one of the longhorns - didn't expect to see them outside of Texas.

There is a picture on Page 4 of this thread, maybe three-quarters down – it is dated 10/20/2006 in a group with only the heading "Fall." It's of a quaint street and you can see an “antiques” flag hanging from one of the shops on the right. Can anyone tell me what town and street this is? Thanks!

Thanks, polizzio! Here's a similar autumn scene near Blountville:

Ventured to downtown Rogersville on Sunday for Heritage Days, enjoyed it very much. Big crowd there with more vendors than I've seen before:

A couple of nice houses in Rogersville:
