Man they are so beautiful, all of them are. How much snow fall does these areas get a year? I know this year has been pretty rough in most of US.

I live in St. Marys Ohio and I am considering relocating to a state with milder winters. I don't know if hubby will fall for Tenn.

Thanks, we have no shortage of scenic beauty in this area. Annual snowfall for populated places in our area generally ranges from 10-20", depending on elevation, while the high-mountain areas like Roan can get 80"+.

Here are a few more snow scenes from Kingsport last week:

And along Kitzmiller Road, between Kingsport & Gray:

While our winters are not as hard as yours I'm on this board because we are considering the same thing as we move from Maryland in retirement. From what I can see the weather in this area is about perfect for what we are looking for.

Like you we are looking for a warmer climate but we still enjoy the change of seasons and I love walking through the woods with our dogs in the snow, beautiful and perfectly quiet. This area still gets snow, but it seems to be in the form of a few storms of a few inches that are gone in a few days.

And of course moving south means really hot summers. But not so much here due to the elevation. 5 degrees a day warmer than Maryland this time of year really is a big difference, the warm days come early and often when compared to our climate, more so with yours. The best news is the summer is actually cooler than our summers here in central MD due to the elevation.
