Hello all Tri-Cities forum members! I have just come from a Knetic meeting (which is Kingsports young professionals group) and were invited to a reception on February 28th and we are extending that invitation to City-Data members!
Details:
February 28th from 6:30 to 7:30- heavy hor'derves (sp?) and wine to be followed by the following:

Chamber Classics

Beethoven: Egmont Overture
Haydn: Cello Concerto in C major
Feliks Volozhanin, cello (Winner, 2008 Elizabeth
Harper Vaughn Concerto Competition)
Bizet: Symphony in C major
Pre-concert chat • 7 PM

Where: Toy F. Reid Employee Center, Wilcox Drive, Kingsport. (Eastman)

Who is sponsoring: Symphony of the Mountains (yes, they are inviting us for free!) Symphony of the Mountains > Home

You must RSVP to me for this, just send me a DM, please feel free to bring a guest, so let me know how many will be attending with you. This is the symphony so I would say appropriate attire required.

This is a great opportunity to not only meet one another in person, but to see a show and meet some of the great young professionals of our region who's ground roots efforts are reshaping this region.
The symphony was telling us today about how they are wanting to add some more new/funky/younger styles of music concerts that still have classical instruments, they want to see what kind of response the public has to this and they also know Knetic does a lot of sharing of information about the Tri-Cities/Kingsport so they want to get our opinion, well so does City-Data so when I told the symphony member about it, they extended that invitation to us here on City-Data as well!

I hope everyone of all ages will consider coming, it is going to be a great evening!

Thinking about it, gotta check the work schedule Monday.
Whooooboy, mapquest says that's a 45 minute drive from my house, so anybody know how the traffic is on Hwy 11W on a Friday evening?

Well, seeing as you would be hitting the two spots that would be iffy ( by Allendale or Eastman Rd.) after 5:30 and before 7:00, I would say the traffic would not be bad at all, just the normal traffic lights.

Sorry, to hear that jabogitlu and Pacersfan, but understandable for sure with being rather short notice. I too wish they had notified us of this maybe at the beginning of the month and it would have been easier for everyone to make arrangements. But couldn't pass up to opportunity to share the event with CD.

And we do appreciate it! Maybe when it's warmer we can all get together for a potluck-picnic in a park?

I'd love to come but I have a birthday party. I would totally be in the doghouse if I skipped out. haha.
