Please pass this story around. This could save some of the lives of these dogs!

Hello all,
At 3:30 am this morning, two men broke into one of our Pilots N Paws rescue
members Doggie Care Center in Johnson City, TN. This is where our friend
and fellow rescue person, Tammara Josselyn, keeps all the rescue animals
she takes in, nurses back to health, and finds loving homes for.
Canine Hope All Breed Rescue

Three of the dogs taken were personal pets. The men stole a total of 14
dogs...12 rescue dobermans in various stages of care, one lab, one minpin
and one mixed breed though that one was located in the woods behind the
center. One of the dobermans needs pancreas meds to be able to digest any
food, one of the younger females was recovering from someone tossing her
off a bridge, another dog has been blind since birth, and the list goes on.

Her niece lives in an apartment above the center and when the dogs would
not stop barking, she came down to investigate. One of the men dropped the
dog and came after her with a knife and cut her side. She is ok, just
needed some sutures, but emotionally distraught.

Early in the day a man came in asking if she sold dobermans. She told him
no, this is a rescue and if he was interested, please fill out an adoption
form. They believe he was casing the place.

Please spread the word to your friends, your group lists, everywhere you
can. Here is the email and phone contact for Canine Hope Rescue though
please use discretion when contacting them as I imagine they are being
inundated with emails and phone calls.

Please contact Tammara at caninehoperescue@comcast.net or call her 423 773
8113 immediately if you have any information or contacts who can assist.
Tammara needs our help, she is devastated and only wants these dogs back.
Through our vast network, I am hopeful we can do just that.

Thank you in advance,
Debi Boies
Co-founder, Pilots N Paws

This post just turned my stomach....to think that someone would steal sick and injured dogs is unthinkable. God only knows what he/they wanted to do with them and where the dogs are now? I've never heard of anything like this. Please post an update when and if these poor dogs are found and if these cruel people are caught and arrested. I have taken in strays, abused, neglected, and abandoned dogs and cats for 30 + years and know how needy they are after being in a horrible situation. They really are just like babies and children in that way. Thanks for posting this and just maybe someone who reads it knows something that might help.

I hope it's only to sell them.

But possibly someone took them to be used for training pit bulls... When my wife wanted to give away a dog, a local shelter told us to screen potential new owners very carefully. People who fight pit bulls like to get other dogs for training -- all the better if they're known as good guard dogs, the kind that will fight back. We always worried about someone trying to steal a purebred German Shepherd she had. It's why outfits like craigslist.org won't allow ads selling dogs but will allow 're-homing fees' like $50 or so -- it's enough of a deterrent for these folks.

Heard they may have been sold for research, odd that so many could just disappear like that w/o a trace, no new updates that I've seen or been aware of.

The woman at the center of an alleged dognapping and attack at a Johnson City dog school has been arrested for filing a false police report.

The owners of the business, Cool School for Dogs, 3548 West Market Street, have also been charged with animal cruelty.

How bizarre... Did she stab herself? Where are the dogs?

FYI, this establishment has been recommended twice on this forum.

So I'm confused!!! Did this Honeycrisp or Tammara Joslyn make all this up?? Who actually is saying that this happened? I tried to open the link with the story and it wouldn't open up for me. I was so upset and worried about those little dogs. Maybe there really wasn't any dogs. Hopefully that is the case. Why would someone do such a thing? Were they trying to get donations or something? That is really, really sad. Does it say in that article what happened to the dogs?
