The only bad things I really hear about Kingsport is the smell.... from the chemical company. I have smelled it, but its not that bad I do not think. I guess it depends on what time of day it is.

Nah, the smell isn't bad in almost any part of town. There are a couple places.... but that shouldn't put anyone off Kingsport

I have heard that smell referred to as "the smell of economy" by locals.

Still, with all the very nice locations, why put up with a smell if you don't have to?

Well mainly it is because of the great revitalization happening in downtown Kingsport that is just not in JC. Over the past year the downtown has REALLY changes for the better and there is lots to do including free music every Friday night through out the summer. They are also planning a water way revamp which will be great in a few years or so.
