We may be looking for a good Realtor soon, especially one who knows, loves and appreciates old, historic homes. We're originally from CT, where historic homes are venerated and usually are the first to sell. But we also know a lot of folks in NE Tennessee generally tend to prefer *new* so we'd like to find someone (within the next 6 months) who would do justice to a lovely 1850's brick home on 5 acres of pasture w/ a wonderful creek (small river). if anyone posting here might know of such a person, please DM me. I would really appreciate it! Looks like we may be making a semi full-time move out of the country in the near future. Thanks! (Hope this request gets past the mods)

Hope to be able to help - sold house in SC about 18 months ago - currently house looking here.

First, market in SC- will not prepare you for market here - while there has been a slight increase in purchasing here personally believe +90 is due to the tax credit expiring.

Biggest issue I have found here is that most of the houses currently on the market were purchased so recently that either the seller must be willing to take a significant loss or you must be willing to pay significantly over what recent comps indicate house would be worth.

Also, might want to watch what seller paid for house versus asking price - too close and you might have a case of the seller having worked with the lender trying to do a short sale before it goes into foreclosure. Had one house that I was to view recently -before date to view came - house had been put into foreclosure status (no longer even available for showing).
