I am very curious and interested in beekeeping and have been reading about it. I am in washington county but across the street is city limit.
Does anyone know if I can have bees while leaving so close to city.
If year from now city decides to expand then can I still keep my bees?

I know this is an unusual question but I thought there might be a beekeeper here and might know!

thanks in advance.

You might want to contact John Snavely, President of the Washington Co. Beekeepers Association, at (423) 323-7368 or via e-mail: wastel1@aol.com.

The WBCA will hold their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 11 at 7:30 pm at Boone's Creek Christian Church, 305 Christian Church Rd, Johnson City, TN. Anyone interested in beekeeping is welcome to attend.

I know of at least one bee-keeper who is within the JC City limits, and well with-in Washington County. Doesn't seem to be a problem. As a gardener, i am pretty pleased to have him around.

Default Bee Hives

Beekeeping can be a fascinating hobby but it can also be a profitable business. Beekeeping is a full time occupation for other people. There are thousands of hobby beekeepers worldwide and numerous large-scale commercial beekeepers. According to estimates, the annual production of honey worldwide exceeds a million metric tons.
