I know of Warrior's Path and Laurel Run. Are there any other nice parks in the area that would be good for a child's party ? Something with a playground and shade/picnic area. We usually have at at Eastman picnic area since we have family members employed at the big E but we are wondering what else is out there.

Just checked out Fun Expedition online and about choked. $249-$289 for a 1 hour party ! Then there was the Trolley party package for $189 but it's only for kids turning 5 or younger.

Willow Springs Park on Huffine Road in Johnson City has a nice playground and picnic tables, but I don't think you can reserve ahead of time. Rotary Park has picnic tables and a couple of older playgrounds (but lots of woods for fun and imagination!). It's behind the Girl Scout Camp. Winged Deer Park on Bristol Hwy is also nice.

If you're near Bristol, nothing beats Steele Creek Park ... especially if the train ride is operating.

Steele Creek is great fun!
I'm not sure where you are but for my DD's first b-day, we were able to rent a pavillion at the fish hatchery in Erwin. It is nice and shaded and the guests get to check out the fish and there is also a tour of an older home included. I can't remember why but the home is there on the property and has been made a museum. The kids can ride their bikes in circles around the hatcheries.
Weird idea, but fun and I think it was around 40 bucks for an afternoon.
