My family is planning our annual vacation in June to Boone Lake. While we are looking forward mostly to relaxing at the lake - boating, fishing, etc. - we'd like to explore your area a bit as well. The guys think the whitewater rafting sounds fun - any suggestions on which company they should use? We girls love to shop for antiques, crafts, and even "old junk", and would appreciate any information on your favorite places.

The flea market in Piney Flats/Bluff City on 11E (Bristol Hwy) is a fun place to shop and people watch. Collector's Cove in Piney Flats is also fun to poke around. Also on 11E. Hope this helps. I hear Kingsport has some antique shops but I've never been to them. Have fun!

State Street in downtown Bristol VA/TN is lined with antique shops. One side of the road is Bristol, TN and the other side is Bristol, VA. If you haven't visited State Street, you may want to : ) Some really nice shops have gone in lately as well as some new restaurants.

Definitely don't miss Kingsport downtown for antique shops. And I've not been personally, but I heard that USA Raft does a good job with rafting.
