Looks like a beautiful scenic drive.. It's been since the early 70's since I drove the route.. Is it clogged with campers and whats the speed heading into the park on a week day? Any good times to travel this route.. and are there pull offs..too take it all in along the Pigeon River. I was checking it out on Google Earth...
It's been so many years I have forgotten, or is a senior moment

There are pull-offs along the 441 section. We have been on 321 both sides, I believe it's more of a "normal" road than 441 so you may be able to make your own pull-offs. Avoid weekends (including Fridays), that's the most traffic. The speed all depends on who you get behind, it can go up to 45 thru Townsend, and around 30 on 441.

There isn't much traffic at 3 am during the summer. :-)

Very true.. "BUT" hard to take pictures of the beauty before you. Unless you have one giant flash attachment....

Seriously, its a great drive. Since the best lighting for photos is very early morning, or just before dusk, I would go early morning and miss the crowds.
