For those who live near 66 (aka Winfield Dunn Pkwy) where the Food City Plaza is, near Burger King/BB&T, the place that used to be called Mr. Myagi's is now called "The Shack", and let me just say, this place really has potential.

It's promoted as being a sports bar, it will have NFL Sunday ticket, and has 8 large flat screen TV's, as well as a pool table. The menu is decently priced, lots of bar food and some asian delights as well as homemade Shack chips, which are hand made potato chips. Mmmm!

My hubby and I went in last weekend, they said they were open and we wanted a brew, some grease and to watch the race. That said, we tried several appetizers on the menu, which were all good and the price wasn't bad at all!

We decided to stop back in the other day, and found out that their grand opening is next week. They are going to have something fun everynight, from trivia, to poker, to live music. We enjoyed a band that played Jimmy Buffet music and they told jokes...it was a very nice time.

I usually don't promote such things, but I have to say that this place was laid back, service was good, prices were good, and you just can't not share that with others!

So, if you are in the area, stop by and let me know what you think. There weren't any tourist's in the place, just all local's, so it was nice to talk and meet our area townsfolk! We even got a couple business cards from a few guys that do contracting work and one who does pools! LOL!

Check it out, if you are in the area, and let me know what you think!

Yes, thanks for the info! Could have taken me years to find this out. Sounds like a great place for the NHL playoffs and Kentucky Derby!

Hooray, another hockey fan!

Now let me guess who your team is.......hmmmmm....
LOL!

I'm a Red Wings fan, but in all honesty, I'll watch any game, as long as it's a good game. Same with all sports really...well except soccer. I just can't seem to get into that....

Mrs. Mopar, REAL southerners do not enjoy "brews" and sinful honky-tonkin!

Nope. But we do it anyway. Gotta keep up appearances. Gosh, it's a tough life.

I tried this place on Friday night. The food was great, but my wife was very offended by some woman who was dancing all over the dance floor and making a fool of herself. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be back, because of that. It is too bad, seems like the place would have potential.

Yeah I was there that night with some friends and we found it odd that she was allowed to do that. It seems like the owner would have asked her to leave or at least quit making the stage a strip club. The people I was with said that was a turn off, and they won't be back. I might give them another try this Friday. It is a really cool place, except for that incident.

I find it amazing that two people took the time to join city-data just to let us know about someone dancing at a pub and within 46 minutes of each other.

I find it amazing as well.

We stopped by there on Friday night, and saw the 'act'...it was after 10:30pm on a Friday night mind you...the atmosphere was definetely a bar scene at that time.

Personally, I found it to be hilarious in that this "southern" gal was acting the way she did...and to think her grand-daddy used to be a constable.
Some folks just can't handle their liquor.

But don't sweat it, the owner was well aware of it and she was asked to cease those actions in the future. We'll see if she continues her "jezzabell" actions or listens to what she was politely asked not to do.
