Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out where U-verse is available in Knoxville. According to many sources, it has been here since 2009, but when I put in my address, they say it's unavailable. Do any of you have U-verse? If so, what is your zip code because I want to figure out where they have it and where they don't. For reference, my zip is 37922 and they don't have it there.

Isn't 37922 serviced by TDS/Concord Telephone Exchange (probably run by Windstream now)?

It's offered at my house, which is in Fountain City, although I haven't tried it.

NEWS ALERT

Just found out that AT&T UVerse dropped several channels.
Looks like I'll be shopping for a new provider (and I was just getting used to the remote and memorized the channels).

AT&T U-verse drops HGTV, Food Network other family-friendly networks from its channel lineup

U-verse refuses contract extension to keep popular lifestyle channels on air

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a surprising move after weeks of positive negotiations, AT&T U-verse refused a third extension offered by Scripps Networks that would keep the family friendly networks HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel and Great American Country on the air while negotiations continued. The decision by AT&T disrupted service to the telecom provider’s 2.7 million customers, leaving them without some of the most popular lifestyle networks on television.

Meh. This is part of negotiations and unfortunately it happens all the time to all of the providers. Don't be surprised if those channels are back on the lineup soon.

My parents have it in 37918 and they seem to like it quite a bit.

Yes, but they'd better hurry or they'll lose at least one customer.

I've had it happen in the past with other providers, but never with so many good channels.

And those networks know that. It's why they hold out for more and more money. Sport franchises are the biggest money generators and they know it and charge the providers accordingly. And some of the providers they simply do not like and won't even let them play. Bad pun intended.

HGTV has had a Facebook campaign all week where they are getting their fans to sign a petition. They'll hand that to AT&T and say, "See how many customers you are going to lose? Now pay up." Ultimately, the customers pay.

Looks like they figured something out. Got home and noticed the channels had returned to the lineup.
