Where are the reasonable camping sites and with wireless internet?Around Knoxville? Not with a lot of drive time becuse he is going to work there.
Reason is that we will move up there in our RV so that way we can make the right choice when we buy a home and what area we want to live. Thanks

I'm doing the same thing. I've run into two problems. (1) There are not that many that will take a 40 footer and (2) They are EXPENSIVE. The only reasonable one I found was in Dickson (name escapes me) at $275/month. All of the others want anywhere from $225-$300/week and some have the nerve to charge you extra for wireless access on top of that.

One of the tricks the full time RV people use is to rent an empty mobile home lot. You have sewer and power right there. Just find some mobile home parks and ask if they have empty lots. You should be able to do that for $100-$200/month. That's about the best way to do a long term thing...and when you want to go off for the weekend, just unplug and go. WIFI might be hard to find in a trailer park. For that you'll most likely have to pay the big bucks at a RV resort...or go without. I'm an internet junkie, so I put satellite internet on the bus. The other way you can satisfy your internet needs is to just take your laptop when you go out to dinner...or anywhere for that matter. When I travel I can usually find a hotspot which means I don't have to put up the dish. When I was visiting TN a few weeks ago without the bus, I just took my laptop to the restauraunt when I went to dinner. Every one I went to had wireless access, so I checked email and did what I needed to do while waiting for dinner.

Anyway, one of my friends who I met through an RV BBS has gratiously offered free hookups at his shop for as long as I need. He is in Union City and I'm looking for real estate around Nashville, so there is a bit of a drive, but free is free. To save $1200/month, I'll drive 2 hours to look at houses.
