Hello. I am in need of an orthodontist in West Knox. My child's dentist recommended Dr. Dr. Langford. Has anyone used him or do you have one you would recommend?

My son sees Dr. Diddle on Dutchtown Rd. We've had a pretty good experience. The only thing I don't care for is he has one big treatment room so parents aren't allowed back due to HIPPA so I feel a little left out of the loop as far as treatment goes. But I know tons of other kids who see him as well so he must be doing something right. Their scheduling is pretty flexible and their office staff is nice.

Dr. Hurt (yes, that's his name) in Oak Ridge is great!

Sorry but that is a load of doo doo on the part of the office. HIPAA has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on a parent going back with a child for orthodontia work. What is the difference for the legal guardian being back there vs the minor patients? Nothing. They all can overhear confidential communications. The office needs to spring for privacy curtains or cubicles or exam areas. The office is trying to pass off their preference, and a lack of spending, as a government regulation. Pffffft.

I agree. Our daughter goes to Dr. Darryl Phillips of Children's Dentistry of Knoxville - he is not an orthodontist - and it is one big treatment room and I always go back there, as do all the other parents. In fact last time we went I had to stay while he put on sealants since my daughter needed me to be there. He said he was willing to hire me since I was so good at staying upbeat!
