I guess we are all pretty much on the same page with this one. Get rid of tenure, give children an adventure with their education, and untie the hands of creative dedicated educators who want to see their students learn, not just pass tests.

Too bad testing takes away so much of the creativity for teachers. I asked my principal about this just last year, he said, "teach to the test, I want to keep my job." Lol

Default Good point, Deborah53!

That's a common response, isn't it. And, everyone does want to keep his or her job. If we just had more time each day, maybe we could accomplish both creativity and test accomodation. But, that will never happen. Cost $$ and kids and teachers will really burn out then.

Afterschool clubs, scouting, music classes, trips to museums, crafts and arts activities, and reading, reading, reading. If parents can provide some of these things to their children, the kids will provide the creativity and enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Let's go, Mom and Dad! You're some of your kids' best teachers!

Cool Maths Teacher Looking for a Job.

I am a certified maths teacher in England. I teach middle/high school maths.
I am interested in teaching maths in the USA. Does anyone know any school district that will recruit and sponsor a foreign teacher to come and teach in the US?
I have a temporary Florida Teaching Certification.

Thank you.
