Can we do a thread on restaurants in our area with meals under $10 that fill you up? As money is still tight for a lot of people, we're getting tired of spending $8-9 on a meal and still hungry. I don't want to include any fast food places or buffets, it has to be a place where you leave a tip, and it has to apply for men not just women.

All that immediately comes to mind is
GONDOLIER
CHOP HOUSE (burger, salads)
SZECHUAN GARDEN (either full dinners or combos)
WILLIE'S in Seymour (I barely finished a $6 sandwich)

Noodles & Company (in Turkey Creek), wouldn't consider fast food but you don't even have to tip. Very reasonable.
Penn Station Subs, a sub place, still wouldn't consider it fast food, and the subs are AMAZING, and you don't have to tip
TC's Grille in Maryville (best hamburger I've ever had bar none)
Osaka Japanese in Maryville (cheap, delicious, and you do have to tip)

I am sure I have a ton more -- I'll add as I think of them!

Okay back with more to add ... In Knoxville:

Shono's (Cedar Bluff location - the Market Square one is more expensive), Tomato Head (it'd be a bit of a squeeze, but doable during lunch), Panera Bread, McAlister's, Five Guys, The Creamery (pretty sure)... pretty much any Mexican restaurant, Chipotle, Cheddar's

In Maryville/Alcoa: Subs & Such, Midland Restaurant, Dolce Carini, Full Service BBQ, Ming Tree (at lunch time), Alexandro's, Cheddar's, Panera, McAlister's, Five Guys, Metro Pizza, and again, pretty much any Mexican restaurant

Can you tell I'm a foodie?

yeah I'm a foodie too but I guess it takes more to fill me up. I LOVE Mexican but I haven't been to any Mexican place that can make me feel full for less than $10 (but, I don't eat rice). I would prefer not to have sub places on the list, but I do appreciate the offers. Sub places offer different size sandwiches so I kinda lump it with fast food.

Cheddars....been there twice, not yet convinced on the fullness issue. I love Panera and McAlisters but again, their sandwiches are not enough to fill me up. I'm not overly impressed with anything on Market Square as far as value. I'd like to see real restaurants than can compete with Gondolier and Willie's.

Five Guys is OK to put on here. Fuddruckers also, but sometimes we want a place a little more classy.

I highly encourage you to try TC's Grille in Maryville. It is a hidden gem. Husband and I went and had two bacon cheeseburgers (my side was a baked potato, his was onion rings), fried pickles as an appetizer, and sodas, and our final bill was $22. And we both had over half of our burgers left over and two fried pickles went untouched. You would MOST definitely be full there under $10.

Penn Station is unlike Subway... it is a whole different sandwich experience. There fries are a lot like Five Guys. I would encourage to give it a try.
