Last year we were looking at land in New Market(Old AJ HWY/Lowery Loop)& someone told us the railroad was trying to get something going there at the railroad tracks, loading/unloading, or something like that & I think the people there were trying to fight it. Not sure exactly what it was.
Does anyone know what happened about that plan?

In the amount of time it took to start a new thread and ask this question you probably could have found the answer by doing a search. And you wouldn't have had to wait. Uncertainty over intermodal facility has some residents of New Market on edge » Knoxville News Sentinel

I really wasn't in a RUSH! I just figured people living there would have heard something about it and maybe would want to give their input! Sorry I bothered anyone by "forcing" them to read my thread! WOW, thanks anyway!

Thank you! (Maybe you could DM me, so I don't upset anyone!!)I did look it up online. Looks like it may be a couple years yet. They have purchased property along there, though.

I think it will probably happen, there isnt much residential development in that area and the eastern fringe of the city is probably the only area of knox county that is compatible with new large scale industrial development

Doubt it. Jefferson County is much different from Knox County. Much of the property involved has been family farms for years. Couple that with the proposed site being very near the only elementary school.....

From what I read in the article, they have already purchased some of the family farms. One family doesn't not want to sale, but some took the money & ran!!
