My husband and I are interested in a home just outside the Russellville area but would like to know what the current atmosphere is in Morristown. How is the drug and crime situation? Is this a good place to consider or would somewhere else be better? Employment and schools are not issues.

Russellville is my first school, thru the 8th grade and Morristown is pretty good place to live as I moved to Knoxville years ago but still visit lots, as my sister and family still live there. I can put you in touch with her, as she is well versed and has lived there for some 50 years now.

Lived in Morristown for a year and a half, job change recently moved us away, otherwise would still be there. Wife complains she misses the area about every day, and we're not originally from there.

A lot of people complain about the city, but we enjoyed our time there, close enough to Knoxville for high end shopping and "big city" stuff, Great Smokey Mountains, etc.

It's definitely "small town" and bible belt, and for sure southern, but if you're adaptable it's a good place to live. And if you like outdoors stuff, a great place to live.
