These people have a harder time finding the right slot...particularly the older they are. Entry level is a different story. But if you have someone that has been an air conditioning specialist...going to an industrial or construction job is not easy unless he is pretty young and can transition with less skill in a particular area.
my husband works a factory job in campbell county and has to work 12 hour days 6 days a week to make ends meet. jobs around here dont pay much on the hour and i know most people here in this county work overtime or work more than one job to just pay for necessitys. anderson county has some good factory jobs particularly in clinton.

Let's throw this in the loop.

An individual makes $20/hr in Florida for a skilled technical construction job (inspection). Must have a long list of certifications & experience.

What can be expected in the Knoxville area?

Or let's say that individual in Florida makes $10/hr. What is expected up there?

Are wages cut in half?

It depends on many factors.

I would say the same thing--in our job search so far, my hubby (who is a service manager with licenses and over 15 yrs experience is making almost 24/hr here--plus bonuses and our apartment. For the same job, the most we have seen so far has been around 16/hr...

I think it depends on QUITE a few factors--area, what kind of job, etc...

What type of employer you end up working for (governmental, non-governmental, private, over the table, under the table), what type of construction, whether there are benefits or not, location in this area, etc.
