My family is moving to the area and REALLY needs some advice. My husbands job is located in maryville. We need help finding a place to stay in a safe area that will allow our dog to stay as well. We need at least a 2 bed/1.5 bathrooms. Our budget is 600-800 a month. we prefer a house but we are willing to take a apt/condo. Any ideas or suggestions? can u please recommend a Realtor company that would allow dogs on their property.

If I remember right, you may have some trouble finding a place that will rent to you with a pit bull. I know my insurance carrier has a problem with them, and the carrier for the condo we own also does.
So for us, we will not rent to people with pit bulls. Not because we don't like them, or dogs in general, its because of potential liability.

That's it in a nutshell, Barking Spider. It is the rare insurance company that will insure a dwelling with that breed in residence. In fact, I don't actually don't know of any companies that do. Any landlords that allow it generally don't realize that they are not covered or look the other way. To do the latter is insanity in my opinion. Your own home, your own issue, but if you rent to someone with that breed and don't disclose it to your insurance company you are leaving yourself wide open to losing everything and then some.

Dee, how about contacting a Pitbull rescue, association that might be able to help you with finding a place with your dog.
