I'm glad you have a friend who can answer these questions. City-data has pages for specific cities with a lot of good data. That way you aren't relying on a random stranger's opinion.

I would think from Gatlinburg's website you would know it's a tourist destination.

I can't find info on this forum for Gatlinburg, correct? The closest area listed was Knoxville, I thought, unless I'm not looking at the right forum part. I had just googled G'burg and found some info on it, but didn't delve deep enough to see that it was that touristy.

The official statistics City-data has compiled are pretty impressive.

Put city-data in a search engine with the name of the city or town. The forum is more like a chat room.

Seems the "advance search" is working again...

Hmmm... It still says "No matches, try using different search terms." I scrolled down to TN, but I still found just the major towns as I had before. No worries, though - we've taken G'burg and Chattanooga off our list. It would be nice to find more on Maryville, but I am having good luck using Creeksitter's advice. Thanks Bones!

It was working, but apparently had stopped again.... You can't use an old link once that happens...have to re-input data....

So...Search, advance search, type in keyword, (search in forums) choose state or area....
