When I lived in the Halls/Powell area my water/sewer bills were sky-high. Maybe $80 a month. And that was back in 2007 and before. When I had KUB, the water and sewer ran more around $40 a month. Now I have an apartment where water and sewer are paid for.

Edit: I've heard that Halls/Powell has since gone up a lot more!

I have KUB and last month I used 10 Ccf of water. This cost me a total of $123.63. This broke down to $34.63 for water and $91 for sewer.

It looks like for just basic service KUB charges $10 for water and $20 for sewer.

Holy mackerel that is high. And why is sewer, specifically, so astronomical?

I am not joking and can put a link on here if you want me to, but in Maryland now, they tax you for how much rain falls on your property per year.

Now back to the real subject at hand. I have Shady Grove Utility District and my water bill runs about 23.00 a month for water. I have a septic system.............

A sewer system is one of the most expensive utilities a city operates. They have to pump it and treat it, plus sewer systems are subject to SO many mandatory federal regulations.

got on the kub site and was able to look at a sample bill.. confused me a bit when I saw electric, gas , water and sewer on the same bill. but it did clear it up.. so it appears that water is cheaper, sewer more expensive, electric is much cheaper, don't use natural gas so I have no reference for that. overall it appears cheaper.. much cheaper... wmsn thanks for the link... helped immensely.
