I hope that the new shopping center will stand facing towards Kingston Pike instead of Papermill! They should add a new road/driveway in coming from Kingston Pike. Going into the shopping center from Papermill/Kingston Pike sounds very scary!
I actually hope that it will stand facing the interstate. That way, passing traffic may see the store(s) and want to make a stop. That's a benefit of that location and should be taken advantage of, boost our local taxt dollars and economy with passing motorists.

I would like to see an entrance/exit from Kingston Pike as well. Additionally, an expansion (add a middle turning lane) of Papermill from Weisgarber to Kingston Pk would be great.

Ugh! I bought my baby's first ballet outfit there, complete with ballet shoes and a ballet bag. I know they opened another store but...

Just thought I'd update here:

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The opening date is set for an outdoor retailer coming to Knoxville.

REI says they will open October 24th in West Knoxville.

Not much of a story to read, but here is rest of the story: REI opening late October in West Knoxville

Very different from Gander Mtn and Bass Pro. They carry everything from rock climbing gear to extreme mountain biking stuff. The selection of backpacking equipment and great shoes/boots for hiking and every other sport is wonderful. They do not focus on hunting and fishing really, much more geared to other active outdoor sports, like kayaking, backpacking, trail running, etc.

Price-wise, they can be high, but they have great sales and the equipment they carry, from name brands to their own REI branded things, is very good quality. I've never had anything I bought there break or wear out except from over-use/abuse.
