I am 51, recently divorced and relocated to Knoxville last month (North Hills area), looking for a church. I realize my age group puts me near the Senior Citizen category (shudder) but I am NOT looking for a chuch filled with older people. Also not interested in a church geared toward young families either. Would love a great mix of age groups, prefer contemporary music, laid back but solid Biblically (although my theology is to accept each other in love even where we disagree). A non-denominational church would probably be the best fit but not a definite requirement. Mainly just want a place where I can find new friends and adjust to this unexpected new life. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks!!

Knoxville is packed with churches, and a majority of them are going to be just like she described. I don't see the point of driving 24 miles to Lenoir City.

Fifth Avenue Baptist is where I attend and it is close to you. It is a small older church but very close knit and caring. Sunday services are at 10:50 and we usually enjoy lunch together afterward
