Like in most of rural TN, I doubt schools in LaFollette are very good.

Crime is high, but it's mostly between drug users, drug dealers, and domestic crime. There is a lot of property crime, but little in the way of violent crime.

Is it safe if you keep your nose clean and aren't doing illegal activities? Probably. Are there far, far better places to raise a family? Definitely.

Failing.

This is going to come across as rude but if someone looks at the above and still says, "Well, student success has to do with parental involvement" and then puts their kid in one of those schools, shame, shame on them. Yes, parental involvement is enormous but you can't expect an ant to pull a ten pound rock up Mount Everest, either, even with an inclined plane. Not only that, but a school of that caliber speaks volumes about the area.

I am looking around Norris Lake and I see some pretty expensive homes and an absolutely gorgeous area.. You can go into any rural area anywhere in any state and find crime..Google and do a drive a satellite view to see the whole area.. That will tell you before you head there where exactly you want to look..
