That was also back when we had Bluegrass bands on Friday and Saturday nights.
Jim,

I never did try out Mrs. Kinser's. Shame on me! We pick up Buddy's about once every 2-3 months and quit eating potato salad otherwise. We will be in Knoxville again this weekend and will pick up a quart and that will do us for a bit.

tjb,

As far as sharing the recipes that were close for those that posted, I don't make potato salad anymore and haven't in quite some time. If I come across my recipes I will share.

I do wonder if there isn't some vinegar in there....?

This was a fun thread to re-visit.

Seems to me you need a disgruntled former Buddy's employee to go rogue.

I am not local and was unfamiliar with Buddy's. I just checked and their prices are great. I was kind of surprised to find the cost of a pizza or other restaurants are basically the same as here in Maryland. Happy to learn about Buddy's.

Pizza (not Chain restaurant) is the same price or lower than in NY, which has made transitioning here easier for us. Dazzo's downtown and Elidio's have decent NY or Neapolitan style pizza, and you can buy it by the slice

Would be nice to have Buddy's Bar-B-Q here in the Atlanta area.

Mrs. Kinser's spreads have always been my favourite. Reser's bought them out some years ago, they can still be found in grocery stores usually under Reser's brand. I have seen Mrs. Kinser's around here.

Brian,

If I had known I would have brought some back for you this weekend. Hubby went to Community last night and picked up BBQ to go with the Buddy's potato salad. LOL

Thanks for the tip on the Reser's.
