Tri Cities. It is the most affordable out of all your choice and will be less hot and humid. Knoxville is consistently named worst in the country for allergies. You'll probably have better luck in the Tri-Cities on that front, too.

Thanks, as always, hipknapster' for some reason my brother said they were farther than Maryville. I'll know more when I get there & can look around.

The Tri-Cities is in the northeast corner of the state. It's farther away, yes, but it would have to be so that it would be less humid, be better for your allergies, etc.

If you're looking at the Tri-Cities, IMO, look at more remote places like Carter or Greene counties if you want rural. These places typically have the fewest factories, less pollution, and best air quality IMO. I'd rule out Kingsport, due to pollution from Eastman and other plants, as well as downwind of those plants in Hawkins County.

The tri-cities sounds good. I was veering toward there before I talked to my brother. A couple more months & I'll be able to see for myself.
