I love the Heartland Series, too! It's produced by local channel WBIR-TV, channel 10.

I don't know about the early newscast, but it always comes on at the tail end of the 11pm newscast, so around 11:25pm. You an check WBIR's web site for more info. You can also purchase all their previous vignettes on DVD directly from the TV station and at a few other places around town (again, check the WBIR web site).

Also, I believe Saturdays they have a full half-hour of Heartland Series vignettes from 7-7:30pm.

Thank you for the info, I just love learning things about my new "home" state

Smile Thanks, Phyll and JMT.

This sounds like a DVD that we would really enjoy. We are not close enough to watch it in real time on WBIR, but I will check to see about the DVD.

Thanks, Phyll and JMT. I am going to miss y'all for a week or so while tending hubby, but I will check in so I don't miss goodies like this one!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Heartland series. Bill Landry is a treasure! I think he is out at Townsend this weekend at the festival. We have the complete Heartland Series on DVD. These stories depict the Tennessee that I grew up with and love so dearly.

Wink I can't wait for it to arrive!

SMG, WBIR has the DVD for a mere $14.95. I have already ordered one. I will now have to wait on Mr. Postman.(Look and see, is there a letter, a letter for me?)

Here is the link for anyone else who is interested:
The Heartland Series: Big South Fork DVD

DH will enjoy this as he recovers from tomorrow's surgery. Say a prayer, everyone, please.

Gem, there are multiple DVD's, or at least there were. They might not be selling them all anymore. Prayers already said.

Thank you, SMG - and thank you.

This was the Big South Fork, Heartland . I will go back and check further for others. Now, that you mention it, I should have noticed that this was region specific. Put a hold on that "only $14.95".

Hey Jabogitlu,

I keep meaning to ask you if you have heard of the bluegrass band "Appalachian Trail" or "Twin Springs"? One of my girlfriends from Kingsport is in the band and she ended up marrying another bluegrass player. They are soooooo good!
