Top 10 things to do in Knoxville & surrounding areas

Market square is great for a visit. No quads at UT, not really worth a visit unless you are considering attending. For a short hike with a view put Candora and Cherokee trail (not blvd) in your GPS and park in the gravel lot across from the water tower. Follow the trail downhill and bear to the right after about 1/4 mile. There's another more developed park across the street if you have time.

Few Pictures of Melton Dam and Rocky Top General Store in Harriman Tn That General Store is like going back into time

Harriman itself is like going back in time. There's a great view of the Cumberlands and a beautiful Victorian neighborhood right behind a main street that's ripe for renewal.

Went to Market Square. Incredible. Feels incredibly vibrant but yet relaxed and safe at the same time. If I could've stayed in town longer, I would've found a place to rent a bike and go along the river and finish up there. Loved the UT campus, you're right, no quads, this picture was what had me thinking of that. Of course it wasn't fall, but still, the elevated position, the green, etc. were perfect for a short stop. We walked from Market Square past the Courthouse, up to campus through the main building area and ended at the football stadium where it looked like a lot of construction was happening. I would definitely consider checking out those trails/views next time, they look great. I would also seriously consider moving to Knoxville and working at UT now, in fact it's close to the top of my list, so if they happen to going through a heavy hiring period, I will have to look into that! Loved the area, thanks for the tips.

Fort Loudoun is a good and educational place to visit when you are in this area and you can see in these pictures how the leaves are in the area.

We drive to Nashville to fly out to California when we have gone. It is only a three hour drive and we love to visit Nashville. As for driving, Knoxville is within a day's drive of most of the east coast so it is well situated for car travel.
