Too bad you won't be here during the end of April. Rossini Festival is awesome!

As mentioned earlier, the Dogwood Trails are a great ride. And the Dogwood Arts Festival has an ongoing calendar of events. Dogwood Arts Festival

Default Upcoming events/things to do in the greater Knoxville area

Hi all,

Let's use this thread to post things going on around our fair city (perhaps we should keep it to things happening within the next month.) It'll be great to see what other people like to do and we'll all discover new things!

I'll start for Sept:

Greek Fest is Sept 28,29, and 30th. GreekFest - Saint George Greek Orthodox Church

Also, an exhibit at the Fountain City Art Center...

August 24 – Sept. 28: “Works by Jessica Gregory and Linda Leilani Bohanan”

It has a castle (huge size I've heard) made of recycled materials!

Includes life-size paper mache animal sculptures and a partial medieval war horse specially for this exhibit. Constructed almost entirely of recycled materials, her "castle" will also include found objects, recycled artwork, and
will possibly serve to display additional works of Linda's as well. It will be the largest piece ever displayed at the Center.

That's excellent info. I haven't been to those movie showings, yet.

Don't forget that Boomsday is coming up, the country's largest fireworks display in the country. It's nice to get up close to see the displays directly over the water but the crowds are huge, too.
