There's a charming light opera at the Tennessee Theater at the end of October and now's a good time to order tickets.

Strauss' "Die Fledermaus"

Strauss’s intoxicating operetta!
all performances at the magnificent Tennessee Theatre
Come pop the cork on this champagne operetta in celebration of Knoxville Opera’s 35th Anniversary! Strauss’s masterpiece features intoxicating waltzes, mistaken identities, and flirtations at a masked ball. Friday night’s audience will be treated to performances by special guests.
Performed in English.

The Knoxville Symphony is also performing the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2 tonight (Sept. 21) at the Tennesse Theatre. It may be to late for tonight, but their next concert will be October 20 and 21. if you have not been to a KSO concert give them a try.

I scored front row tickets for A Chorus Line at The Tennessee Theater in December. My favorite musical, bar none and the first time taking my daughter!

I also got cheap, cheap seats - surprise, surprise - for tomorrow's UT game. Great seats, though. Not nosebleed which is good because my daughter is in a cast and using crutches!

Let us know how 'Chorus Line' goes; we'll hear about the Vols without a report.

We have our Fledermaus tickets for Sunday afternoon so we can walk around Market Square and have dinner afterwards. Should make a nice late October evening.

I'm sorry. I should have posted it. I'll try to make more regular contributions to this thread starting the middle of this week.

We've got a lot going on here so it's worth noting. I'll admit though, the events I'll be listing will be things that I'd do if time/money allowed. Please excuse my bias in posting.

This Friday night (the 28th) you can watch You've Got Mail for free on Market Square. I'd suggest grabbing dinner to go and enjoying the nice weather outside.

I'm not much better about remembering to do this! I just didn't know about it and I usually have a general idea of what's going on. Instead, I was in Trader Joe's when a guy came in and said he was stuffed after going to the cupcake festival. I was like, "what?"

My daughter went to last month's movie on Market Square with a friend. She said it was "Footloose."

By the way, the game was great. She managed to get around on her crutches pretty well but she was exhausted today.

Don't forget Greek Fest next weekend! I am so excited!
