Hi,

I got a speeding ticket on 1/17/2016. I have been trying to pay it online via the City Court website but the system couldn't find the citation. I called the Knoxville City Court and was told that they couldn't see it either because Knoxville PD had not entered the citation in the system. Usually it takes two weeks but it's been over a month. They also suggested me to wait for a few days. Today is 2/18 and the court date (3/4/2016) is approaching. I'm very concerned about it because I have moved to Seattle, WA so I cannot appear in the city court on the specified date and time.

Any suggestions? Can I just mail a check to the City Court? Thanks.

Call the Police Chiefs office perhaps? Sorry, I don't have any experience here. Anyone?

I would suggest getting any commutations with the court in writing! Either via email, or mail in the check, with the citation number on the check, and send it registered mail. If they send it back keep the return address and any communication they send with it. If they cash it, you have a record you paid.
