I came across this website and thought that it might be of interest to those considering retirement in the Maryville, Alcoa, Blount County area.

Wink It ain't over til it's over!

Thanks, SMG, I know one of these days I will be looking through the directory - it's bookmarked.

I tried not to notice the "End of Life Services" section, however.

Default Retiree Services--Is it that time already?

Another soon-to-be TN retiree adds 'thanks' to SMG for the great website.

GEM--I'm not sure which is worse--end-of-life services or end-of-life planning!

Hope dh continues along the healing path and heading toward TN.

No wonder it bothered me so much, Suzanne1945! I was reading "End of Life Services" and it really is "End of Life Planning"! That doesn't unnerve me as much to plan on the inevitable, it was the arranging for the Service that had me rattled!

Well, I guess I can put that on hold for awhile as long as I keep looking both ways before crossing the street, that is.

DH and I both thank you for asking about him. He is coming right along. Still a bit sore, but doing so much better!

That is too true, Suzanne1945.

I just read Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and the main character is an elderly gentleman living in a nursing home.

When scolded by his nurse for being stubborn, she said, "You can't keep this up forever!" The old fella answered, "How do you know that between today and next week isn't forever for me?"

Life is better when we look far ahead. If we are always looking back we might bump into something that hurts!
