What is the commute like from the north side of Tellico Village to Farragut at rush hour?

Maybe 30 minutes. Could be a little less, or a little more.

Thanks! Someone had said 20 minutes, but that seemed a little optimistic.

It took me 35 minutes to go from the traffic light in Tellico Village to my office on Kingston Pike/Walker Springs exit. That was with no traffic/accidents about 8AM. If your destination in Farragut is close to the Interstate, a 30 minute window should be very realistic. Sometimes there is fog around the lake which could slow you down, but also makes for a beautiful view as it burns off as you drive down Tellico Parkway. A unique commute indeed!

Thanks for the response. I will have to think about this carefully. I am planning to retire to the area, but expect to provide daily child care to my daughter at some point. That may be more of a commute than makes sense...especially on short winter days when I would end up driving in the dark. I am still going ot check out TV, though.

Picking through your posts, I would strongly suggest that you reconsider Farragut and West Knoxville.

I agree with Hik. A once in while trip from Tellico Village to Farragut is one thing, but a daily trip is quite another.
I would live closer to the child myself.

My suggestion with Tellico Village is it's worth it if you will enjoy the amenities and/or surroundings.
You will probably think twice before traveling further up to Knoxville for dinner/ or shopping. If clubs,
Wellness Center, golf or the lake are not of interest to you, I would stay closer to Knoxville. However, there is a nice community of people there who look out for each other and are approximately in the same age group. Best thing to do is stop in the Welcome Center in the center of the Village and check it out.

I couldn't do it. Not only because of the commute, but you will be driving far for just about everything. Restaurants, movies, shopping and anything downtown is going to be something you won't want to do because of the drive.

West knoxville/Farragut would be better IMO unless like TennesseeFan says, the Tellico Village amenities are everything to you.
