What are the most in demand careers in the Knoxville area that offer health benefits? Possibly careers/jobs where they pay for training and you can make $35,000-$45,000 that are not in sales? Maybe careers that require a love of the outdoors and/or spatial squares like measuring and collecting data on measurements? Is there any big demand for people in the geoscience industry or geographical information systems?

My husband has a degree in geology/geoscience. A Bachelor of science. He works in the field of real estate appraisal though. I have a degree in education. Right now I am looking to start a registered home daycare if they will let me. In NJ for under 5 kids you don't need to be licensed with the state.

Are you qualified to teach K-12? SPED and math/science are virtually in demand everywhere. With no experience, you'd probably start around $40k in a city school system. RNs will also start at or above there.

I got my certification to teach in NJ but it is no longer valid. I don't have a certification to teach in Knoxville. It is easy to get a job as a first or 2nd grade teacher down there?

You will probably have to take some additional coursework, as well as any sort of state level license transfer process. I don't know any Knoxville area teachers, but everyone I know who majored in education was able to find a job in this area over the last ten years. As Knoxville is growing more, I'd assume it would be a bit easier than here.

Question Home Daycare service in Knoxville

In NJ where I am if you care for under 5 children in your home then you just have to register. You do not have to be licensed with the state. Does anyone know if this is the case in Knoxville. Also out here I can get about $200 a child per week. I am wondering how much people down there pay per child per week? Is there a demand for daycare for children under 5. Does anyone know where I could get this information?
