We'll be visiting from May 7 to May 13 to get a better feel for the area. This is our second visit. We are planning to buy in Tellico Village in a year or so and we want to solidify our impression of the area. Please let me know about what restaurants and other local hangouts we should check out in Lenoir City or Loudon. Also what are the best grocery stores in proximity to TV? I know that they are a few miles out, but what is closest and best? We are going to golf and try to rent a boat also. Does anyone know a boat rental on Tellico Lake? Thanks in advance for your help!

for the boat rental call Fort Loudon Marina, as far as the restaurants, try Cinco de Mayo which is in the lobby of the Days Inn just off the interstate...If you are looking for a nice greasy burger, try JB's which is in a gas station on the south side of Ft Loudon Dam. There is a restaurant close to Rarity Bay that is suppose to be very good (5 star chef that got sick of NYC) but can't remember the name

Freedom boat club at Choto Marina is great, and several places to eat. Try the Lenior city area, loaded with all the current chains, Ruby Tuesdays, etc.

Also Calhouns on Lake Loudon is a local favorite. Good ribs, steaks, and catfish. Outdoor deck on the water.

In my opinion, that is the best restaurant in the entire area, when you take all factors into consideration, quality, ambiance, service, price, etc. It is our favorite.

The restaurant close to Rarity Bay (Eats) has been closed for a couple of years. The chef then worked at Rarity Bay for a year. Rumor has it that he is going to take over the Bistro by the River in Tellico Plains when it opens again this Spring.

Thanks, folks. Any more ideas are welcomed. We will be staying in TV for six nights and plan to explore the immediate area (within 25 miles or so). Does anyone know if there are any festivals or cool events (festivals, outdoor concerts, or craft fairs, etc) going on the week of May 7 through 13 within ,say, 50 miles or so of Loudon?

Good luck, we just visited lenoir city 2 weeks ago and really liked it, the park there is really nice and the overlook(can't remember the name) has the most gorgeous views. I noticed several restaurants in town, can't remember all of them but they have alot in that town, I was impressed. There's a walmart supercenter where you can get your groceries..

The closest thing I could find during that time frame was a strawberry festival in Dayton, of Scopes monkey trial fame, which is a bit more than 50 miles from downtown Loudon.

TheShadow,

We are interested in TV too, could you tell me where you are able to stay there for 6 days, is it some sort of rental?

PM me if you like.

Thank you.
