I've lived in Knoxville for about 13 years and I just bought my first (and hopefully only!) house. I am up in Northeast Knox County near House Mountain and McAnnally Ridge. My home is about 0.2 miles into the Corryton, TN border. Gibbs, Halls, and Fountain City are all about a 20 minute drive, and the Knoxville Center Mall area is about 15 minutes. I'm pretty familiar with all of Knoxville except North Knox. Are there any particular places I need to check out? Any good eats I need to try? Parks? Etc. I look forward to exploring this side of home. Also, how are cops on Rutledge Pike? Speed limit is 55mph but it's so easy to go 70mph without thinking about it.

Thanks!

I used to live out that way. Cardin's Drive-In on Asheville Hwy has great burgers, shakes, real cherry Coke (Coke with cherry syrup), etc.

But if all I wanted was ice cream, I always headed to Twister's on Tazewell Pike in Corryton. Awesome milkshakes and the biggest soft serve cones I've ever seen.

While really East Knox County and not North Knox County, the Seven Islands State Birding Park is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. It has beautiful trails along the French Broad River and, obviously, is a great place to go bird-watching. It's really one of Knox County's hidden gems.
