Yeah I'm debating relocating to Knoxville. Not a fan of NC and a change would be nice.

It's by the mountains as well. What are good affordable neighborhoods, that are close to local dives, bars, places to eat.

Just curious.

Budget? Will make huge difference.
There are bars and places to eat all over Knox County.
In case you didn't know, Knoxville is a very spread out city / general area. It takes 20 - 30 minutes (or more) to drive east/west across the general Knoxville area. The greater Knoxville area is made up of a bunch of smaller communities, but all within Knox County. The CITY of Knoxville is also spread out and encompasses a lot more than just downtown. The boundaries are mostly based on tax revenue (businesses) rather than geographic limitations.

Once you visit you will get it.

Knoxville runs a huge price range.

- If you're looking to rent, you will want to start early because affordable rentals are hard to come by.
- If you're planning to buy, get your ducks in a row first and plan to hit the ground running because homes sell quickly (we've had a rush of people moving here for jobs and the fact that Knoxville has gotten a lot of "best places to ..." rankings.

BTW, I heard there is a huge need for welders (some company/project just came to town) if that just happens to be in your wheelhouse.

Barking Spider is right, Knoxville is spread out. You'll find cool bars and restaurants in all areas of Knoxville. There's never a loss for something to do or a place to check out. My next bucket list item is POUR and PAINTING WITH A TWIST. Does anyone know if PWAT is byob only?
