Has anyone had problems with the SYNC electronic system in a Ford vehicle locking up in East Tennessee? We will be visiting the Knoxville area frequently and on our last three visits the GPS and the audio system have gone on the fritz as we crossed the state line. When we crossed back into Virginia on I-81, it starts working again.

On our last visit, the navigation system showed no GPS available and the radio/audio system locked up so we couldn't even change the radio system.

We've talked to SYNC and to two different Ford dealers and they all claim not to know what's causing it. Of course our dealer at home claims they can't diagnose the problem because it works fine here ...

Not a life-threatening problem, but aggravating nonetheless. If anyone has had similar problems, how did you solve it?

Thanks,

We never had a problem in the Knoxville area. Have you ever updated your sync software? There could be a new release for sync/nav that fixes the problem.

Yes, we've tried all those things -- master reboots, updating the software, etc., multiple times.

It's just odd that it happens within a few miles of crossing into Tennessee and resolves when we leave the state.
