Networking for my Hubby (Knoxville, Oak Ridge: apartment complex, appliances, loan)

So we came to Knoxville last week, fell in love with the house in Strawberry Plains I had mentioned to you all before. Problem? We only qualify for FHA loan and since my hubby has not secured a position down there yet, they could only work off my income. Which is not enough for the home I REALLLLYY wanted So I am, needless to say, bummed about that, but also am working harder than ever trying to find work for my hubby.

I believe sometimes that word of mouth and referrals are the best way to get "that" job. Believe me, we have sent resumes to EVERYWHERE I can think of, we check job postings on every website I can come up with on a daily basis, some of them may pan out but nothing so far. the banktold us if we can get an offer letter, we would have NO problem getting a loan.

So here's the deal. He has 20 years experience in the maintenance/repair industry-started out in appliances but can do heating, a/c, electrical, plumbing, all of that good stuff. He currently works as a Supervisor for an apartment complex---and that line of work he has been in for 15 years or so. Like I said, we have applied to complexes, called a million of them, sent in resumes, appliance companies, a few HVAC places...He is a quick study and can do a lot of things-ANYONE know of anything open that may fit him or can you point me in a direction we may not have thought of yet?

It's a long commute to Strawberry Plains, but there are lots of maintenance types working for contractors at the various DOE facilities in the Oak Ridge area. I would also suggest he try TVA.
