Hello,

We have been looking at housing in Blount County and a house is available in Alcoa that we also like. Anyone currently live in Alcoa or Maryville that could give me some info on crime and politics.

I've been reading some articles about how Blount County is becoming more progressive, supporting liberal agendas etc. The last thing we want is to move to an area that is dealing with BLM propaganda, is teaching racial hatred in classrooms and supporting division amongst varying groups.

Do you have children in the Alcoa school system? Do they feel excluded or less than because of their race? Are they taught a liberal, racist agenda?

Thank you for your time.

No children in school but neither Maryville nor Alcoa will be turning into a Portland or Seattle any time soon. Neither will Nashville, for that matter.

Anyway, Maryville's high school team is called the Rebels and nobody seems to be hand wringing and wetting their pants over it.

No reports of looting, arson and citizens being assaulted in the name of justice, peace and tolerance have been reported.

That's all I've got to say regarding your concerns.

ETA: Maryville has a great county library
