anyone know how I can meet other singles in the Maryville area? Is there a place that singles generally hang out at? or are there any single groups in the area? I know some of the churches must have some but I am still new to the area and have no clue what is out there as far as church singles, or even a singles club.......!

Putty - this isn't a dating site and I have to be careful with these posts; however, if you tell a bit about yourself you might get a bit more direction. Generally speaking most folks around here meet through work, church or hobby affiliations; or they have known each other for years. There really aren't any "dating" scenes or clubs, specifically. Welcome to Maryville.

If I were single I'd be on eharmony for sure ... that seems like a sure thing. I would suggest going to clubs on Fri/Sat nights, if Maryville has any clubs, or just where bands play. I think groups of single women go out to hear music, and men go to hear the music and see the women....and drink of course....

Default Well aware of this not being a singles site!

I apologize if I sounded as if I was referring to meeting men, this was not my intention. Being new to the area I would like to meet women and men for just friendship. The only reason I specified single is because I have no children and I feel like I can spend more time with someone who doesn't have the responsibilities of children and I have more in common with other singles. I did intend for this to refer to men and women. I am sorry if anyone got the wrong impression of what I was asking about.

Actually Putty, I wasn't sure if you wanted to meet men or women (or both!). These types of confusions are why the administration doesn't encourage "singles clubs" type posts on here. Thanks for clarifying.

Default One of the nicest things about the south. . .

Putty, find a church to your liking if you wish to attend church, and you will find all kinds of get-togethers and functions for couples, families, singles, people who like to quilt, . . . Well, you get the idea.

One of the nicest things about big, middle or small towns in the TN/GA/SC area is that there is something always going on for everyone within a church or religious family group.

I hope you find others in your situation to do things with real soon. It sure makes you life a lot richer when you have friends to share it with.
