Today on the NASCAR channel on Sirius radio there's talk (rumored) that Tony Stewart may be interested in buying the Bull's Gap track. That would be a shot in the economic arm for that area IF that purchase were to come to fruition.

Interesting rumor and would be great if it was true.
Joe Loven, who owns the track, has sold off his concrete business. He had closed Volunteer for most of May and has been half-heartedly trying to sell the track for several years.
Premiere dirt racer Scott Bloomquist, who considers Bulls Gap (Volunteer Speedway) his home track, is fishing buddies with Tony Stewart and good friends with Loven so it's possible they got together.
Stewart has done great things at Eldora, finally got a scoreboard up. He could put on some really exciting shows at the Gap. It's a nice facility and right off the Interstate.

Thanks for adding these tidbits. I had no idea of the relationships you described. Of course, Eldora's big race is tonight and with Stewart's huge success there, anything may happen.
