My husband and I would like to make a move to Tennesse next spring from Wisconsin. I am an IT professional with testing and project management exprierience. My husband is a electrical maintenance tech and works in plastics manufacturing. We both ride harleys and want to extend our riding season and move to a location with a lower cost of living. I have been looking at Knoxville as a possiblity. We want to live outside the city somewhere with 30,000 or less population willing to drive 30-40 minutes to work.

Any thoughts?

Knoxville is surrounded by small towns like you mention; Clinton, Norris, Oak Ridge, Oliver Springs, Lenoir City, Maryville, and a few others would all be 30-45 minutes from downtown Knoxville.

You may not be aware but the downtown Knoxville area itself is fairly small.

welcome hiwisc, Knoxville is surrounded by many areas, like Jim mentioned, and the job market here should allow you to find your nich. You will love our 4 seasons here, and riding can about happen year around. You will have to do the dragon, and good luck in your relocation.
