The maples and pears are budding. I saw daffodils today.

Not good. They are predicting snow showers for Saturday.

I saw a cherry tree in bloom today too... and my daffodils and tulips are poking out of the ground. Can't wait for this cold to be over for GOOD.

The early budders and bloomers are built to handle that. Its when you get into late March and April that you have to worry.

I get the same worry after the 2-years-ago spring ultra-freeze.

The plants in my yard are looking for any excuse to start budding/growing already. As I sit here, my doors are open and balmy air is blowing through the house. Hopefully, my trees know that this is just a trick!

Don't start yet!

The dogwoods are putting out plump little buds. I suppose they know what they're doing.

So it's balmy now and cold air is coming... looks like the ingredients for a storm!

My February Gold daffodils bloomed before the snow, ice and cold hit last week and put on a great show. Brave little flowers.
A couple of new ones opened this week.
They usually come up in late January. I've got some purple and white crocus up now, too.

Oh, the daffies are so cute! Makes me what to wrap them in blankets seeing the ice and snow.

Beautiful flowers

Some times we try to get them to grow where we want them, rather than where they want to be.

Reminds me of people.

Some seem to enjoy the cold, while others must have higher temperatures.

Fortunately people are a bit more adaptable, as shown by all the dead flowers I have each year.

I am here, they are not. Hopefully I will bloom in TN when I am planted there.

Any flowers I plant are on their own.
