I'm thinking everyone should go to the DOC ROCK concert at the Valarium Friday Feb 27th.
It's a charity event featuring bands made up of Doctors.

I'm partial to Second Opinion.

'Doc Rock for Health'
Sometimes, qualified physicians take up musical instruments instead of surgical ones and proceed to operate on a set of tunes. They call it "Doc Rock for Health," featuring MD-laden bands such as The Vibraslaps, Remedy, Second Opinion and Risky Business.

From the official press release:
Four local bands featuring doctor musicians will square off in the ultimate battle of physician bands at "Doc Rock for Health" on Feb. 27 at The Valarium. Each band - which features physicians from area hospitals including Parkwest - will play a 45-minute set and compete to win cover charge proceeds to benefit local health-based charities including Interfaith Clinic, Knoxville Alliance of Medicine Project Access and the Methodist Medical Center Hospitality House.

The Valarium, located at 940 Blackstock Ave. (on the corner of Western Avenue below the viaduct), donated its space for the event. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the first band playing at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. The band with the most audience support wins.

It does sound like a ton of fun! I can't make it this year but hope to in the future.
Have you been before?

I missed last year (forgot the date), but my daughter started singing with Second Opinion, so I must go this year.

Please come to the Valrium tonight for a great concert for charity. If you do come, please vote for Second Opinion, since the winning band gets half of the gate for their charity.
