I know that’s what they called it even though the biggest snow on record for Knoxville was recorded in November of 1951, which I guess really, was "The Storm of the Century".

On April 3, 1987 we had a freak storm that dropped 8 inches of very wet snow. Talk about a fast meltdown, by the next afternoon all of it was gone. I guess my point is that in the past Knoxville would get 3-4 snowfalls in a winter that would range from 3- 8 inches and sometimes more. I know it’s not much compared to what they get up north, but still enough for some good sledding.

I got some information on the condos/townhomes I mentioned. They are located on Blue Spruce Way off Inskip and Adair. The developer's name is David Varner and the condo is Fox Springs. I believe the contact info is on a sign on location.

Thank you "TNTim" for the info & area, it's ok if Knoxville doesn't get but a dusting, there is plenty of snowfall all around to make up for it plus when my daughter is driving age it will bring me peace of mind during the winter months!

"mjb62676" wow thanks a bunch! I have always heard that the people from Knoxville are the nicest and I would have to agree. It says a lot about Knoxville when the majority of the people are good spirited folks, always willing to lend a hand and/or opinion via on-line and always have something nice to say about their city!

Now if y'all can work your magic and make my husband's company open a position in the Knoxville area all will be good!

It has been "several" years since Knoxville had 3-4 snowfalls of 3-8 inches. I think February of 96 might have had back to back weekends of 5 inches, but other than that I cannot recall anything more recent than 13 or so years ago that had the snowfalls and totals you mention.

I thought that is what I said in my earlier post.

I live off Merchants Drive, which is close to Fountain City and the interstate. Realty Management leases us our condo Moderator cut: cut . Realty Management has a website where you can select the area {north, south, east, west) and rentals that are available are shown.

We rented a house off Lovell Road in a development called Autumnwood II in West Knox that was pet friendly.

Thank you "Choley30", it is very helpful getting areas that people actually know first hand for us to keep a look out for possible areas to relocate to when we move!
