We moved to middle TN about 18 months ago from the northeast and tornado watches/warnings here are getting old. I'm so tired of worrying.

My husband and I are retired and want to know if this area of TN gets tornadoes?

Hardly ever. The last one was back in the 40's or so. We do, however, get VERY strong winds and this is one of the windiest places I have ever lived.

If you remain in Middle Tennessee, get used to the tornado warnings in the spring and fall transition seasons.

Thanks. I think I can deal with the wind better. We'll start researching for future reference when the market turns around.

I have a question on the wind in the eastern TN region. Is it bad enough to sandblast your car (something I heard about in another state with extreme wind), or is it more of a noise issue? Is it bad enough to cause car accidents and/or other problems? Thanks.
