I am new to Knoxville and I'm considering moving into a condo/loft/studio/apt...something downtown. I have been reading through all the threads, some are older though and I looked up all the links like MetroPulse.com, Craigslist.org etc without much luck. I looked and all the websites for the buildings mentioned like Sterchi and others but I don't know if there are any other publications that might list downtown places to live? Is there a good company or person to speak with, am I better off just heading down there and walking around to try and find something? Any updated help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you so much.

Welcome jitaylordc, a great many places to choose from as I just had dinner with owner of one complexs and he is even leasing until the market changes. The owener of the Sterchi lofts just bought and is opening up the Commerce, once completed, and you just to search, as there are plenty to see, and some with parking either on site, or close, and some do no have parking. Good luck, and last time I looked it up, were some 50 some to choose from.

I'd walk, drive around. I see so many "for rent" signs all over that never have listings in the paper or online that it seems like that's the most popular way of renting places in Knoxville.
And ask people. Hang out in Preservation Pub and talk to folks. Shop in the stores and ask the clerks. You can probably get leads that way.
I've been in some wonderful lofts over stores downtown and I doubt they were ever advertised anywhere when they came up for rent.
