My family and I will be relocating to Knoxville in late June/early July. We have applied for an apartment (Windover) but when we got the police crime analysis, we were surprised to find out there was a number of property crime on-site, and wonder if we should find a different one. When I checked Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitors sites is not allowed, the crime index of the neighborhood where Windover locates is 58 (100 being safest).

Here are other apartments in better neighborhoods, and I wonder if anyone has advice on those:

1) Mountainview Apartments (crime index 95)
2) Villas at Emerald Woods (crime index 95)
3) Derby Run (Farragut) (crime index 98)
4) Walker's Crossing (crime index 58)
5) West Lovell Center Apartments (crime index 98)

Advice is greatly appreciated!!

Mountainview are nice and I think the area is extremely safe. We chose Emerald woods because of the garages and they were new. Loved it there but finally bought a condo. Derby Run was nice but office staff was not my favorite when we came to visit. Walker's Crossing is a good area close to things. I don't know where west lovell center apts are. Can I assume high crime index is good? I liked Emerald Woods but they cost.

Thank you so much for your info, which is very helpful! We will look into Mountainview for sure.

I saw another post mentioning Fox Lake Apartments in Ceder Bluff but could not find it in apartmentratings.com nor on Google map. Have you heard of it?

fox lake is nice. It is owned by the same company as Emerald Woods. Williams Company. They do not have garages but are a big complex off Cedar Bluff. Depends what you need. We were going to rent in Mountainview but they did not have a two bedroom available when we were looking. It would have been a few months. Look at all. Be sure to check Emerald Woods. And if you call Walker"s Crossing they will send you a little promotional dvd.

Walkers crossing, is in my mind, one of the nicer, best kept and mangaged. I also like the Lanesborough, located off of Campbell station and Smith rd. Nice grounds and pool, and the greenway runs right thru. Good luck.

Thanks for your info. Just curious--is it important to get garages?

We went out to West Knoxville in April and actually saw Emerald Woods and Walker's Crossing. Both are nice and Emerald Wood is definitely my favorite of all places I have seen! It is unfortunately on the pricy end. Too bad we didn't see Mountainview. Would you mind letting me know what you liked about MV?
